Giving Back to Our Local Communities

Deluxe is a company with a strong sense of community.  Employees have always been there with their hearts and hands, giving back in the places where they live and work. In 2010, Deluxe employees organized 90 company-sponsored projects to benefit charities in their communities. Employee volunteerism helps strengthen communities and also serves as a great way for Deluxe employees to build relationships with their co-workers.

A sampling of Deluxe 2010 volunteer projects follows:

  • Of the 90 projects sponsored last year, 10 were focused on collecting groceries andcash for food shelves and similar programs.
  • Kansas City, KS employees hosted a "Senior Prom" for nearly 100 nursing home residents. In addition to supplying food and decorations, the Deluxe volunteers also supplied entertainment, which included a disc jockey.
  • The Lifesavers Wild Horse Rescue in California is among the list of rescue groups that received donations of time and cash from Deluxe employees last year.
  • Three Deluxe sites organized supply drives for our military troops serving away from home. 
  • In Greensboro, NC, Deluxe annually hosts the "All American Potluck," an event in which employees cook and serve a complimentary lunch to 50 local police officers, firefighters and paramedics.
  • Twenty Deluxe employees in Shoreview, MN  were matched with students struggling with reading or math. The committed volunteers spent an hour each week mentoring their students.
  • Employees in six Deluxe communities raised funds to benefit the American Cancer Society and Canadian Cancer Society.
  • Many Deluxe sites hold on-site blood drives (approximately 350 employees donated blood in 2010)

We recognize the importance of volunteerism and promote it at all levels. To promote individual volunteerism, an employee can donate 16 hours at a favorite charity and the Deluxe Foundation will make a $200 contribution to that organization.  Their generous volunteer spirit inspires us all with their unique stories.
